Kicking Things Off: Thank You and Insights – Edition 1
LinkedIn turning into TikTok, Gladiator 2 and the movie industry, and more
Hi friend!
First of all, I want to thank you all! You are the very first that decided to join my newsletter, which didn’t even really existed yet. I truly appreciate your support and it made me feel responsible for delivering value as soon as I can. So here I am, time for edition number one.
My goal for this newsletter is to share with you my raw thoughts, ideas, emotions on everything I experience or see and find interesting. I am also purposely not going to use too much AI as I want to keep it as human as possible in a world full of bots everywhere. So I hope you don’t mind my writing, grammar mistakes or other less perfect elements 😉.
If you ever have any ideas, thoughts or questions. Feel free to reach out to me via either replying to this email or on LinkedIn/Instagram. I welcome all feedback and help, in the end of the day this newsletter is for you.
Let’s dig in!
Why is LinkedIn turning into TikTok?
To start things off, let me be honest. The main reason I wanted to start this newsletter now, comes from a place of frustration.
Over the last few years I have been a big advocate for the, very underrated, power of LinkedIn as a platform for business and quality content.
This seems to be changing rapidly. My personal engagement has been nuked and you can tell LinkedIn has adopted the TikTok algorithm.
This means, you only see the same stuff you engage with. Do a little test for yourself, go to one of the people you know posts content but haven’t seen any of them in a while.
First off, you’ll probably be surprised that they actually did post. Second when you like or comment some of their posts you will notice that all the post will start reappearing in your regular feed.
As said, it personally frustrates me to see that my content is not getting the reach and engagement anymore that it did before. But there are bigger concerns than that. One of the reasons why the TikTok algorithm has been so dangerous is because of extreme echo chamber results. The moment you watch 3-5 seconds of a cat video, instead of swiping away immediately, your feed will be filled with cat videos.
LinkedIn is starting to behave similarly so I want you all to be aware. Maybe we have to implement conscious feed curation every few weeks/months or so:
Visit accounts of thought leaders you enjoy.
Like or comment on a few of their recent posts.
Watch your feed fill with refreshed, valuable content.
So overall it annoyed me a lot but let’s hope it started something good, and better, which is this newsletter.
The reason why we are stuck with bad remakes and sequel movies nowadays— and how Gen AI can save it.

I went to see Gladiator 2 on the weekend and I was very disappointed.
For the people who don’t know, I love a good movie. I can truly enjoy the craft of cinematography, the art of sound design and just great f*ing stories. Whenever a movie impresses me I will go back to the cinema for it, to watch it a 2nd or even a 3rd time.
Unfortunately, this does not happen a lot anymore (besides any Christopher Nolan movie).
Why is it that we nowadays have to deal with so many prequels or remakes of great movies? 15 Fast & Furious movies, 6 John Wick’s, and now a new Gladiator after the legendary first movie released 14 years ago.
The reason has to do with money, obviously.
When thinking about this it reminded me again of this clip where Matt Damon explains it perfectly:
In summary: artists can’t gamble on new stories or heroes anymore because the business model for movies collapsed, now almost solely relying on movie theater revenue.
What does still attract big crowds to movie theaters? Big brands, big IP, big heroes.
People like myself who absolutely loved the first Gladiator, with a legendary performance by Russell “The Gladiator” Crow, and now has a very small bit of hope that the second one is good as well.
Ironically, the movie industry is facing massive disruption again because of Generative AI. Many people speak out the fear, actors/actresses/writers went on strike already because of it.
I want to pose a different question, instead of killing the movie industry, what if it could actually save it? If Gen AI has the power to drastically reduce the costs to making movies, will this open up new possibilities for artists to create what they truly want to? Instead of focusing on making money and therefore having to cope with another version of “Saw”.
What if, just what if, Gen AI allows the next Matt Damon to create their own Good Will Hunting.
I can’t wait to see!
(and if you don’t believe me, have a look at what artists are already creating with Runway. This video is the announcement of their third, annual, AI film awards):
Here are some of the latest announcements and other things that I found interesting (yellow underlined means clickable!):
Anthropic announces custom styles for its Claude AI Model - this means that you can upload sample content that reflects your preferred way of communicating, specify instructions to match your needs, and edit your preferences as they evolve. Incredibly handy for content creation, copy writing and more.
I read an incredible tweet thread on X (Twitter) about how learning can be improved in school but also why it is so hard to implement. It is a long read but worth it if you find it interesting:
It’s shocking how much we know about how learning happens, all the way down to the mechanics of what’s going on in the brain.
And it’s not just how learning happens, but also, what we can do to improve learning.
There are plenty of learning-enhancing practice strategies that… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Every creative should listen to this podcast (click) by Google DeepMind's Matthieu Lorrain on the 'Liquid' future of art.
Streamers are the biggest stars of today and they aren’t slowing down. Complex just released the “25 best streamers right now” list and there are a lot of new faces. There is also a virtual character listed in there, interesting!
RTFKT, the virtual fashion brand that got acquired by Nike, just announced they will halt all their operations. As a holder of their main NFT (a “Clone”) I am pretty disappointed, especially with the current surge in NFT interest again. What they have been able to do as a team still remains remarkable and I was excited for what was to come. Now I hope all the IP will be handed over to the community, which is still very strong. Who knows what a decentralized brand could become?
Last but not least, here is some of my crazy weird experimentation stuff. I had an AI agent called Clanker, completely on its own, create me a cryptocurrency named $AMICA. All I did was tagged it in my post on Warpcast (a decentralized version of Twitter/X), with an image and a name.
There was a trading volume of 50.000 USD$ and is still active as we speak (click).
AI agents are the future, 2025 is going to be crazy, mark my words.

Thank you for reading and until next time!
Who am I and why you should be here:
Over the years, I’ve navigated industries like advertising, music, sports, and gaming, always chasing what’s next and figuring out how to make it work for brands, businesses, and myself. From strategizing for global companies to experimenting with the latest tech, I’ve been on a constant journey of learning and sharing.
This newsletter is where I’ll bring all of that together—my raw thoughts, ideas, and emotions about AI, blockchain, gaming, Gen Z & Alpha, and life in general. No perfection, just me being as real as it gets.
Every week (or whenever inspiration hits), I’ll share what’s on my mind: whether it’s deep dives into tech, rants about the state of the world, or random experiments that I got myself into. The goal? To keep it valuable, human, and worth your time.
